September is a significant month at Anchor Excellence as it marks the time we celebrate our Birthday. I began our practice in 2018 just before the announcement of the Royal Commission. I was encouraged by friends and colleagues to start my own business. Anyone who has led a startup knows there is always the risk that it may not work, fortunately for me and our team, we continue to expand and grow and get to reflect on 3 very full years.

Anyone who has had anything much to do with me over the past 30 years would know that I care about our industry, I care about our leaders and I care about making a difference because I care about our consumers. Our collective success is purely because we are all united to this common purpose harnessed by our tagline – Leaders enabling Leaders.

It is also fair to say that Birthdays have always been important to me. It’s a time where we can stop, reflect, take stock and genuinely celebrate (in a weirdly covid friendly way) all that we have been able to achieve together, collaboratively and importantly with our clients.

It is also an important time to extend gratitude to those who have been on the journey so far – as fast and furious as it has been. The Anchor Team are each in their own right amazing leaders who I value both personally and professionally. We each bring different expertise to the AE story and we work in a very fast-moving and fluid environment. It’s an environment I personally thrive in and I know it’s one that will require ongoing stamina as we continue to support leaders through the reform agenda. I could not think of a better group of people to work with.

As a team, we have collectively been able to support over 33% of the aged sector nationally through our services, solutions, and education. We support providers of every type and size. Including large to small, not-for-profit to for-profit and family-owned and operated services as well as community-based organisations. We all collectively deeply care about leaders and supporting the – board members, executives, managers, and nurses with everything we can muster.
